Bruins GM Don Sweeney has set a pretty high price tag on Pavel Zacha, per NHL insider David Pagnotta, so he is very much in play for a trade. According to The Fourth Period's insider David Pagnotta, the Boston Bruins are listening to calls on forward Pavel Zacha. Zacha is no stranger to all of these trade rumors, as he was discussed often as a trade candidate leading up to the 2025 NHL trade deadline last season. However, he was one of the few notable Bruins who ended up staying put with the team after their trade deadline fire sale that included legend Brad Marchand. If the Bruins do end up trading Zacha, it would undoubtedly be a massive move. Pagnotta revealed that GM Don Sweeney has set a very high price tag on Zacha, so it will not come cheap for teams looking to acquire him. Don Sweeney...has set a pretty high price, Pavel Zacha was very much available last season, teams look at him ahead the trade deadline, they looked at him in the offseason. - David Pagnotta

Loading from Twitter ...

The 2015 first-round pick is an important part of their top six forward group, and they would need to find a replacement for him if they did move on from him.
Pavel Zacha is extremely reliable as he played in every single game last season
Zacha appeared in all 82 games this past season with the Bruins, where he recorded 14 goals and 33 assists, for a total of 47 points. He did have a minus-8 rating. This came after he scored 21 goals and set career highs with 38 assists and 59 points in 78 games the previous season in 2023-24. Overall, with Zacha being a key part of Boston's offense, it would need to take a very good offer for Boston to move him, which is exactly what Pagnotta stated. His contract also adds to his value, as he has a reasonable $4.75 million cap hit until the end of the 2026-27 season, which will look even better once the cap goes up. Due to this, the Bruins do not need to rush a potential move centering around him, but it will be intriguing to see if they do trade him before the March deadline.
