Jets forward Gabriel Vilardi was asked if he had any sort of sympathy for the Flames' tough start to the season, and he clearly said he doesn't feel bad.

The Calgary Flames flew into Winnipeg on Thursday afternoon, hoping to kick off their weekend with a little redemption.
Having dropped a 2-1 thriller against the Jets earlier in the week, Calgary's attention is squarely on rebounding and snapping its current slump with a team effort when they play on Friday.
Despite garnering only a single point on their previous homestand, there are bright signs.
In Monday's game against Winnipeg, the Flames dominated play for much of the contest, holding their opponent to only seven even-strength chances and killing off all five penalties.
Their fourth line has been a low-key positive that has been quietly delivering, scoring in consecutive games and providing a much-needed shot of energy into a still-troubled lineup for consistency.
Winnipeg, on the other hand, is on a disappointing loss, a 3-0 home defeat to the Seattle Kraken that ended their five-game winning streak.

The Winnipeg Jets were shutout on home ice for the first time since 2024

Goaltender Connor Hellebuyck made 25 saves, but the Jets could not penetrate Joey Daccord's shutout attempt as he saved all 32 of his shots.
The loss hasn't demoralized the team, though, and forward Gabriel Vilardi said before tonight's game against Calgary that sympathy will not be an option, citing that both teams have some things to work on.
"Obviously they're going through their things and then we're going through our things. So, I'm not going to sit here and say I feel bad for them, just like they don't feel bad for me."

With the Jets looking to extend their three-game home winning streak, they'll be relying on their highest-ranked pair of Mark Scheifele and Kyle Connor, who have accumulated 19 points this year as a unit.
Scheifele found the winner in the previous game, as Calgarian Josh Morrissey tied a franchise record with his 295th career assist.
Both teams have something to prove this evening: for the Flames, breaking the skid; for the Jets, jumping back on track immediately. Either way, look for a hot, high-scoring rematch in Winnipeg lights.
