The Rangers are set to face the Canucks tonight, and J.T. Miller broke his silence as he prepares to step onto the Vancouver ice for the first time since the trade.

J.T. Miller is returning to Vancouver, a place where his game matured. His earlier NHL seasons showed inconsistency and immaturity with the Rangers and Lightning, but Miller discovered his game with the Canucks. That's the player Miller now captains with the Rangers.
Tuesday marks his return to Rogers Arena since Vancouver traded him to New York in a blockbuster deal last January due to his reported friction with his teammates, particularly Elias Pettersson.
Although both parties have moved on from the incident, Miller's return only contributes to the high stakes of the much-anticipated game. Miller broke his silence when meeting with the media today.
"I'm not going to sit here and dwell over the way it ended. I didn't expect that to be pretty and it wasn't."

The Canucks have a long list of injuries, including captain Quinn Hughes

The Canucks, meanwhile, are limping into this one. Already battling through a long list of injuries, they recently lost 2024 Norris Trophy winner Quinn Hughes to a lower-body injury just hours before Sunday's 4-3 overtime win over the Oilers.
Vancouver finished that game with only five healthy defensemen after Victor Mancini exited in the second period. Despite that, the Canucks haven't lacked battle.
Elias Pettersson and Kiefer Sherwood were at the forefront of the effort against Edmonton, with Sherwood netting two goals, including the overtime game-winner, as he maintains his strong start to the season.
The Rangers come to Vancouver hoping to put an end to a three-game losing streak. They'll look for their first road victory of the season. The Rangers had only one goal from Noah Laba in a recent loss against Calgary.
Both teams have much to prove: Vancouver in overcoming adversity, and Miller's Rangers working to get back on track.
Their next encounter is on December 16 at Madison Square Garden. For now, however, the spotlight shines on Miller's much-anticipated return.
