Jets coach Scott Arniel absolutely lost it when speaking to reporters, blasting his team for yet another collapse, calling out his players in front of the media.

The frustration was apparent, and it was no different for the Winnipeg Jets, whose head coach, Scott Arniel, wasn't afraid to speak his mind Sunday after his club lost 3-2 to the Utah Mammoth. With the end result of a 1-2 homestand, the Jets fell to 6-3-0.
Arniel praised his club's strong, high-tempo first period but was stunned by how quickly the Jets lost their structure in the second. From there, he went through a list of recurring issues that continue to hold the team back.
"Self-inflicted," said Arniel. "We just decided that maybe that was too much hard work and we didn't think we could do it for the second period. It's a broken record. We keep seeing this in the second period and we keep talking about these second periods."

Scott Arniel feels his team has not played a complete 60-minute game yet this season

Despite identifying problems through extensive video review, Arniel stressed that execution remains inconsistent, and that's the biggest hurdle right now.
"We're in Game 9 here. It's time to end that stuff," said Arniel. "It's about playing 60 minute games in this league. What we did in the first period was hard work and it has to happen each and every shift and it has to happen from all four lines and all of our D.

"Our DNA is usually our work ethic and our compete and I didn't like what we saw in the second period."

The mistakes, often uncharacteristic ones, have become a shared source of frustration within the room.
The Jets will not have time to reflect on the loss, as the team has a road date with the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday.
Captain Adam Lowry, sidelined by a hip issue, dropped his no-contact sweater during the team's optional practice on Saturday and hopes to return by early November.
Arniel offered the possibility that sending the injured forward down to the AHL's Manitoba Moose could become a reality to bring him back up to speed.
The Moose will face the Tucson Roadrunners on Tuesday and Wednesday, then return home for a two-game series next week against the Texas Stars.
For the Jets, it's a simple lesson: clean up the details, get back to consistency, and use frustration to fuel the road trip that's about to start.
