During his post-game media availability against the Habs, young Shane Wright was asked to comment on his first career NHL goal, scored against the team that passed him over at the first overall pick in the last draft.

There was obviously a great story to tell, as the fourth overall pick in the last draft was inserted into the Kraken's lineup for his first game in over a month.

As reported by TVA Sports, Wright tied the game at 1-1 in the first period with his first career NHL goal.

Here's his response:

"It feels amazing. I already can't remember the puck crossing the line. I kind of lost my memory during the celebrations.

Obviously, it's something I'm going to remember for the rest of my life. Everyone was pretty happy for me, the guys congratulated me and told me to go score another one." - Shane Wright

It's worth noting that it's completely understandable that an 18-year-old scoring his first NHL goal would have a stamped smile on his face despite his team's loss.

However, some ill-intentioned Tricolore fans criticized Wright for that very fact that he seemed far too happy after his team's loss yesterday. Let's just say that we really don't agree with these comments, but you be the judge.

"A real winner wouldn't smile so much after a loss!"

Unfortunately, you don't always pick a win to score your first goal, but you only score a first goal once in your career, so let's let him enjoy his moment of glory, which was by a happy accident, against the Habs no less.

Here are the pictures of his first NHL goal:
