It's a real shame it's come to this. A player we thought we'd keep in Montreal for his entire career, Brendan Gallagher, has become more of a drag on the team than anything else. Marc Bergevin's contract hurts a lot, especially with four years left at 6.5 million a year, and Gally is solidly on the decline. It's not a lack of courage or perseverance, but injuries and his body just can't keep up. There aren't many teams willing to accept a similar contract for Gallagher's modest returns.
