The Edmonton Oilers have acquired former starting goalie and award-winner Connor Ingram from the Utah Mammoth in an early morning trade. The Oilers have finally done something at the goaltending position, as the team has acquired former starting goalie and Bill Masterton award-winner, Connor Ingram, from the Utah Mammoth.

Loading from Twitter ...

In return, the Oilers are sending future considerations to Utah, which will likely be determined on Ingram's overall performance over time.

Loading from Twitter ...

Ingram is being sent to the AHL's Bakersfield Condors for the time being. Utah is retaining $800k of the $1.95 million that he is owed for the coming season.

Loading from Twitter ...

The Oilers' cap situation won't be affected at the moment, as Ingram will be in the AHL, but it is possible that he gets called up if his services are needed and once the team makes the necessary salary adjustments.
The Oilers Were Linked to Connor Ingram When He was Waived Last Week
Ingram cleared waivers last week after Utah's general manager, Bill Armstrong, announced he would not spend training camp with the team. We had a mutual agreement where we said, 'Hey, listen, we have our goaltenders,' Armstrong said on Sept. 17. It's probably best for him not to come to camp and put himself in a (tough) situation. We're excited for him and his path to recovery, that's the biggest thing, Armstrong added at the time. He will either get a chance to play for another NHL team or he will go to the American Hockey League and resume his play. But at the end of the day he will be playing and that's what we're so excited for. Ingram has a career record of 39-44-15 with a .902 save percentage and a 3.14 GAA, and the Oilers have just added a key depth piece to their goalie rotation.
