The San Jose Sharks are a team to watch, according to NHL insider Elliotte Friedman, as he revealed they have had and may still have interest in Kiefer Sherwood.

Kiefer Sherwood's time with the Vancouver Canucks appears to be winding down as the pending unrestricted free agent continues to surface in trade discussions around the league.
Several teams have already been linked to Sherwood in recent weeks, including the Dallas Stars, Boston Bruins, New York Islanders, Ottawa Senators, and Montreal Canadiens. A new contender has now entered the picture.

A new team has entered the Kiefer Sherwood sweepstakes, according to Elliotte Friedman

During a December 29 episode of The Fan Hockey Show, Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman indicated that the San Jose Sharks are a team to watch, noting prior interest in Sherwood as roster movement continues across the league.
"Elliotte says NJ have tried to clear cap room with players coming back. SJ might be a team to watch, have had interest in Sherwood. So many teams are in the hunt so no one is doing a fire sale."

With so many clubs still in the playoff mix, the trade market has remained measured rather than aggressive.

Why Kiefer Sherwood is drawing so much attention

Sherwood has drawn attention with his physical presence and timely scoring. He has 16 goals on the season after recording his third career hat trick earlier this month. His physical impact has been just as notable, as he has delivered 169 hits in 37 games.
Last season, Sherwood set an NHL record with 462 hits, reinforcing his reputation as one of the league's most punishing forwards.
Vancouver's asking price for Sherwood has reportedly shifted. What was once believed to be a first-round pick plus a prospect has come down in recent weeks, particularly with Sherwood scoring in just two of the Canucks' last 17 games under head coach Adam Foote.
