Canucks Linked to Bruins Veteran Center in New Trade Proposal

The Canucks have been in desperate search for more forward depth after trading away J.T. Miller last season.

Being able to retain Brock Boeser was a massive win for the Canucks they also traded for winger Evander Kane in a deal with the Edmonton Oilers.

Despite these moves, the Canucks second-line center spot continues to hinge on the health of Filip Chytil who the team acquired in the Miller trade.

With Chytil's health so uncertain a new mock trade from Heavy.com has suggested the Canucks target Boston Bruins veteran Pavel Zacha.

In the new mock trade proposed by Michael DeRosa of Heavy.com the Canucks would send Aatu Raty and a first-round draft pick to the Bruins in exchange for Zacha.

Zacha, 28, is a former 6th overall pick who has played over 600 games in the NHL with the New Jersey Devils and Boston Bruins.

Despite his pedigree being drafted in the top-10 Zacha has failed to live up to that hype with a career high of just 59 points.

Zacha's name has been brought up before in connection to the Canucks making this move more likely than other mock trades pulled out of thin air.

The rebuilding Bruins would love to move on from Zacha for future assets but sending a first-round pick and a young promising forward like Aatu Raty might be too high of a price to pay.

Regardless, Zacha continues to be a name to watch for the Vancouver Canucks and their fans if the Bruins go into full seller mode at some point this season.
