Despite being a goaltender in the NHL, Eric Comrie got the opportunity to play in the Manitoba Open, and unfortunately it didn't go too well for him. Recently, Eric Comrie joined a list of former Winnipeg Jets that got the <a href='https://www.hockeylatest.com/nhl-team/winnipeg-jets/winnipeg-jets-goalie-eric-comrie-accepts-surprise-invitation-to-major-manitoba-sports-event' class='lien_marqueur' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>opportunity to play in the PGA's Manitoba Open</a>, an event that took place over the weekend involving the Jets backup goaltender. Off the ice, Comrie, like many in the NHL is an avid golfer, and after being given the opportunity, the hope was that he could make a good showing of himself in front of the golfing world. <h3>Eric Comrie struggles at the Manitoba Open in a big way</h3> Unfortunately for Comrie, his performance on the course left plenty to be desired, as he would end up finishing the tournament at +42, coming in last place in the entire event, although he was there for fun, meaning no one expected him to compete with the high level players in attendance. <div align='center' class='pl20 pr20'><blockquote class='twitter-tweet' data-lang='en'><a href='https://twitter.com/mikemcintyrewpg/status/1959716833311002917'><div style='border:1px solid #CCCCCC;border-radius:10px;padding:20px;width:300px;'>Loading from Twitter ...</div></a></blockquote></div> With his outing, Comrie became the fifth Jet to compete in the tournament, joining Kyle Connor, Morgan Barron, Mark Scheifele and Dylan Samberg, and again, he ranked low on that list. It was fantastic. I had a lot of fun. You get an appreciation for how good the guys are out here. They're unbelievable. They hit it right where they want every single time. Ultimately though, it's unlikely we see him take place in the tournament again, with other Jets potentially getting the opportunity in the coming years, and while his performance was bad, there were rave reviews of Comrie for the way he handled himself and how he enjoyed the weekend.
