The Edmonton Oilers called up hard-nosed forward Connor Clattenburg from the AHL recently, but head coach Kris Knoblauch has provided the latest update on him, saying he'll miss at least a week.

The Edmonton Oilers recently called up hard-nosed forward Connor Clattenburg from the American Hockey League affiliate Bakersfield Condors, and he's already become a fan favourite for how he plays the game.
But he was hurt when he was high-sticked during their recent 9-4 win over the Seattle Kraken, and per the latest report from head coach Kris Knoblauch, he'll be out at least the next week.
Clattenburg, who scored his first career NHL goal as part of their dismal 8-3 loss to the Dallas Stars late last month, has averaged 7:12 of ice time and already has 13 penalty minutes.

Connor Clattenburg Spends Plenty Of Time In The Penalty Box

Clattenburg, who was taken with the 160th overall pick by the Oilers in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft, had already spent 59 total minutes in the penalty box this year with the Condors before being called up to the Oilers.
Ahead of his first NHL game, he said he was going to continue doing the things that made him successful enough to earn that call up.
It's one thing that's obviously got me to today and playing in this game tonight. It's just something I found in my game during my career, and I've just carried it with me. It's just something I enjoy doing for the team and everyone around me, so let's continue to do that. - Connor Clattenburg

Knoblauch said that he was looking forward to seeing the kind of physicality he was known for in the AHL at the NHL level with the Oilers.
A guy that's kind of playing that role in the American League, and will play a very similar role here. Just playing fourth-line minutes, some energy, and he's brought a lot to his game and has helped his team down there, and we want that same enthusiasm, excitement and physicality.

Before being called up to the NHL, Clattenburg had a goal and an assist in 15 games in the AHL.
