Quinn Hughes' name has been in trade chatter for months now, and after the latest report, he's addressed being linked to the New Jersey Devils.

The Vancouver Canucks came into this season after a poor 2024/25 campaign, hoping to bounce back in a big way given all of the talent that they've got on this current roster.
Unfortunately, they currently sit in 32nd place in the National Hockey League, and as a result, their focus has seemingly shifted to the trade deadline and potentially moving a few pieces.

Quinn Hughes addresses latest trade chatter

On Saturday, NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman reported that the Canucks have had preliminary and ongoing discussions with the New Jersey Devils about Hughes, with the Devils looking to add the third Hughes brother to their roster.
Unsurprisingly, this report got back to Hughes, and now he's addressed the ongoing trade chatter that continues to link him to the Devils ahead of the 2026 trade deadline.
It wasn't like, if there was a call, me, Jim and Fitzy hopped on the call. You know, I wasn't apart of that but obviously I'm aware things like that could happen, for sure.
It appears as though Hughes is preparing himself to be on the move after recent comments from everyone in the Canucks organization, but as of right now, it doesn't appear that he's in on everything Vancouver is doing regarding his future.
Ultimately, it appears to be a matter of when, not if Hughes is dealt by the Canucks, and given how unsurprised and unfazed Hughes was about the situation, it appears as though he's prepared himself for this situation as well.
