Quinn Hughes trade discussions reportedly happening between Devils and Canucks per Elliotte Friedman
Tonight, a new report from insider Elliotte Friedman has confirmed that the Canucks and Devils have engaged in trade talks centered around Quinn Hughes.
Over the summer, Canucks GM Patrik Allvin sparked rumors of Quinn Hughes wanting to play with his brothers in New Jersey.
After months of speculation things had begun to calm down on the rumor front between the New Jersey Devils and Vancouver Canucks in the last month.
However, tonight a new report from Elliotte Friedman has sparked the discussion again confirming that talks have begun between the Canucks and Devils.
Elliotte Friedman confirms the Devils and Canucks have discussed a Quinn Hughes trade
According to a new segment on Hockey Night in Canada from Elliotte Friedman tonight the Canucks and Devils are in discussion on a Hughes trade.
Canucks insider Rick Dhaliwal then followed that report up by confirming that talks are happening but nothing is imminent.
It seems clear that the Canucks are willing and motivated to move Hughes if the team does not improve before the NHL trade deadline.
If Patrik Allvin were to trade Quinn Hughes he would likely be doing so to either try and save his job or to set the next General Manager up for success in their first year of a major rebuild.
If a trade is made it would likely demand a massive return coming back to the Canucks to kick start their rebuild that would be inevitable.
As the situation continues to play out, we will pass along all of the latest details on Hughes' future in Vancouver and beyond.
