Per a new report from NHL analyst Elliotte Friedman, the Philadelphia Flyers and Vancouver Canucks have reportedly engaged in trade discussions involving both Owen Tippett and Kiefer Sherwood.

There isn't much going right for the Vancouver Canucks right now, who lost 4-1 last night to the Utah Mammoth to officially fall into last place in the Pacific Division.
It's a considerable fall from grace for a team that just two seasons ago was on their way to the top spot in the division and eventually advanced to Game 7 of the WCSF against the divisional foe Edmonton Oilers.
There are multiple players involved in trade rumours on the Canucks side of things, most notably captain Quinn Hughes. But other names have been involved in trade rumours, including Conor Garland and Elias Pettersson along with Kiefer Sherwood.
Per a new report from NHL analyst Elliotte Friedman, the Canucks have engaged in talks with the Philadelphia Flyers and the names of Sherwood and Owen Tippett have been thrown out there:
Elliotte Friedman: Re Kiefer Sherwood: I do think they asked Philadelphia about Owen Tippett; I don't think that's gonna happen; they have kind of looked at likeminded players for Sherwood; barring that I think they would look at a 1st round pick - DMase Vingan & Daunic (12/4)

The Flyers Are Now Coached By Ex-Canucks Coach Rick Tocchet

There is already a connection between the Flyers and the Canucks, as the Flyers are now coached by Rick Tocchet, who had been behind the bench for the Canucks for almost three seasons.
In 2023-24, Tocchet led the Canucks to the aforementioned top spot in the Pacific Division, and he was awarded with the Jack Adams Trophy as the NHL's best coach for that season.
But last year, things completely fell apart for the Canucks as they not only missed the playoffs but had to face rumours of a rift between Elias Pettersson and JT Miller, the latter of whom was eventually traded to the New York Rangers.
If things don't turn around quickly for the Canucks, don't be shocked to see them start unloading pieces.
