Jets players share their excitement ahead of next year's Heritage Classic set to be played in Winnipeg
The Winnipeg Jets are confirmed for a 2026 Heritage Classic, and now players have confirmed just how excited they are to be a part of the massive spectacle.
Recently, it was announced by the National Hockey League that next season, the Winnipeg Jets and Montreal Canadiens will do battle in the latest instalment of the Heritage Classic, set to take place in Winnipeg at the home of the CFL's Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
Obviously, this announcement drew immense excitement around the NHL, but especially in Canada, as the Heritage Classic has become a massive event for hockey fans, with the latest game coming a season ago between the Calgary Flames and the Edmonton Oilers.

Unsurprisingly, players on both sides are incredibly excited, and after taking place in the first one the Jets featured in back in 2016/17, veteran Kyle Connor reveals how he feels about this next game, especially now that he has grown as a player and a person.
Love it. Especially to be in the position I am now, have an impact on the game. The role I'm playing on this team now, it would be awesome. And I have a family now, too, and to create those memories and pictures and stuff like that - it's a whole event. A big spectacle.
He's not the only one that took part in that first one, as Josh Morrissey, just a handful of games into his career did as well, and now he's clearly just as excited for this new opportunity.
I hadn't played 10 games in the NHL, yet. One, I'm really excited to be in the National Hockey League. And two, to get to play in an outdoor game that early in my career. Talking to other guys that were 500, 600, 700 games in and that was their first outdoor game, I felt pretty lucky.
I'm definitely excited. And for the people of Winnipeg. We have the best fans. It's just a special weekend and it brings a lot of energy to the city.

This is going to be a very special event for Winnipeg, the Jets and the Canadiens, and given the excitement that's built around it already, it should be must-see for any hockey fan.
