It will also be the second time that the venue has hosted an outdoor game, as it previously served as the home of the 2016 Heritage Classic against the Edmonton Oilers.

The NHL Heritage Classic Dates Back To 2003
The NHL Heritage Classic was first played at Edmonton's Commonwealth Stadium between the host Oilers and the visiting Montreal Canadiens.
It was the first outdoor regular season game in NHL history and would later pave the way for multiple outdoor events, including the Winter Classic, typically played on or close to New Year's Day.
The first Winter Classic was held in Buffalo between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Buffalo Sabres, followed by Wrigley Field hosting the Chicago Blackhawks and Detroit Red Wings in 2009.
It's a full circle moment for the Canadiens, as they were the first of two teams to play in the Heritage Classic over 20 years ago.
