Elias Pettersson will miss tonight's Canucks game against the Wild with an upper-body injury
Pettersson took the pre-game skate at Rogers Arena but wasn't able to complete it, leading to the confirmation soon after that he would be unable to play against the Wild.
It's the latest frustrating setback for the Canucks, who are not only in the last place spot in the Pacific Division standings but have also had as many as nine total players injured so far this season.
The Canucks are also facing multiple trade rumours as their year slides further off the rails.
Elias Pettersson Got Into It With Quinn Hughes During A Recent Loss To Utah
Pettersson, who was at the center of a reported feud with now ex-teammate JT Miller last year before the latter was traded to the New York Rangers, was recently seen in a tense moment with captain Quinn Hughes.
During a team timeout after the Utah Mammoth scored their third goal of the night as part of an eventual 4-1 win, Hughes was seen barking profanities at Pettersson on the bench, so much that teammate Conor Garland had to try and calm him down.
Pettersson's feud with Miller, though both players denied it, was confirmed by team president Jim Rutherford shortly before Miller would be traded to the Rangers.
As more details are provided on Pettersson's injury and status going forward we will pass those along to you.
