Some new terrifying details emerged regarding the fan who collapsed at the Oilers-Flames game yesterday, and it seems he had a heart attack and fell down the stairs. During last night's game between the Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames, play was halted for a significant period of time early in the first period due to an emergency in the stands.

New terrifying details have now emerged as to what exactly happened. One supporter had a cardiac incident while descending the stairs, an unthinkable scenario. We didn't see anything. The Oilers had just been given a penalty and before the faceoff, the coaches rushed toward a fan who was apparently descending the stairs and suffered an apparent heart attack. He was taken by ambulance after receiving CPR.

Witnesses report that he fell anywhere between 18 to 20 rows before others could react to cushion him from falling any further. I'm at the game and it wasn't pretty to see, the fan had a medical episode and fell 18 to 20 rows before someone could stop him.. The Oilers' training staff or doctor was on the scene immediately. This was a truly harrowing scene. He was immediately attended to by the Oilers' medical staff, as the doctor was seen rushing into the stands from the team's bench. You can watch the entire situation unfold here This was definitely a cause for concern for everyone who witnessed it, and bystanders quick thinking and the Oilers doctor's quick reaction to jump in may have hopefully helped this situation from getting any worse.

This fan's recovery is in our thoughts and and we send them our best wishes.
