Tonight tragedy has struck at the Edmonton Oilers game as the game was stopped due to a fan emergency in the stands.

The Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames were set to renew their classic rivalry tonight in a huge game for both teams as the playoffs approach.
Unfortunately as the game has unfolded the narrative has now shifted to a terrifying event involving an Edmonton Oilers fan in the stands.
According to multiple reports the game has been temporarily stopped due to a major medical emergency involving a fan.
Fans and even players were reportedly shaken by the events that took place as medical personnel came into the arena to attend to the fan.
According to a further report it seems that the EMTs on scene were administering CPR to the fan in question.
As of now the status of the fan or what exactly occurred is unknown but the game remains in an indefinite delay as medical personnel continue to go to work.
The game has resumed with the Calgary Flames currently holding a 1-0 lead in the first period.
Hopefully in the coming hours the Edmonton Oilers and the medical staff on scene are able to give a positive update regarding the status of the fan.
Our thoughts go out to the fan and his family during such a difficult and distressing time.
As more information is provided on this developing situation we will pass the latest news along to you.
