Uniforms in the NHL are certainly a subjective taste, but in a recent article, two top NHL analysts revealed Western Conference teams that need a complete overhaul. In the world of sports, hockey jerseys are often considered to be among the best given the level of creativity and design that can go into them, and while some NHL teams hit it perfectly, others certainly fall short of the mark. Recently, Daily Faceoff ran an article about this very idea, with several top analysts being asked about the teams that need a complete overhaul of not just their jerseys, but their entire uniform. While teams like the Flames, Canadiens, Rangers, Blackhawks and Maple Leafs often rank among the best, it was two Western Conference teams in the Vancouver Canucks and Winnipeg Jets that were brought up among the four answers as ones needing to change.

When it comes to the Vancouver Canucks the analysts from Daily Faceoff believe that the team needs to pick a direction and stick to it instead of combining eras. The Vancouver Canucks' uniform has lacked confidence for quite a while now. It doesn't know what it wants to be. It combines the blue and green of early 1970s kit with the orca logo of the late 1990s. The Canucks also self-consciously mix in the black and gold of the late '80s and early '90s, having worn it 18 times this season. I personally would love a full-time recommitment to the Skate jersey As for the Jets, the analyst in this case would like to see a simple change made to the uniform that would go a long way in helping the Jets stand out. But, I'll go in a different direction and pick the Winnipeg Jets. Anyone who has read any of our past discussions about jerseys here at Daily Faceoff knows that I detest the color navy blue, or at least find it really boring, and when we've seen so many great iterations of the Jets' jersey, it's hard to fall in love with the current edition because of its reliance on navy blue This has been a topic on social media in recent times as well, and the common them among many of these rankings is that Vancouver rank towards the bottom almost all the time, and while Winnipeg can often be a little higher, it's still a team in need of a refresh.

The surprising part of all of this is that the Canucks have a black and yellow 'skate' jersey that's seen as one of the best in the NHL, and perhaps over the off-season, they may look to pivot towards this one as a full-time look. As for Winnipeg, their uniforms are simply fine, but lack inspiration and heart, but with so much potential throughout the history of the organization, the hope is that one if not both of these teams can reset their looks in a big way in the near future.
