Hockey player does the unseen! Violently launches his stick towards an official

In the NHL, players are typically aware enough to restrain themselves, however we cant say the same in other leagues.

In this scene, a player violently throws his stick at a referee after a call. The referee appeared to be injured from it.

This player definitely isn't stable enough to play such an emotional sport should he be banned for life?
