A proposal sending Erik Karlsson To His Favoured Destination Emerges

The Pittsburgh Penguins took a major step back in 2022-23, as they failed to make the playoffs for the first time in 16 years, but with Kyle Dubas taking over, it appears they're ready to be aggressive this off-season.

Erik Karlsson

Erik Karlsson has been a red-hot name on the NHL trade market this summer, and with needs on the blue line beside Kris Letang, it's a move that makes perfect sense for Pittsburgh.

Karlsson is coming off of a 100 point season with his third Norris Trophy, and now, one mock trade has been revealed that would link these two together, which is reportedly the ideal situation for Karlsson.

An intriguing mock trade

Most mock trades surrounding Karlsson this off-season have involved more than two teams, but this one, coming to us from Clutch Points NHL is an intriguing one that may work for both teams.

Penguins Receive: Erik Karlsson (30% retained)

Sharks receive: Mikael Granlund, Jeff Petry, 2 first-round picks and 2 second-round picks.

Both teams are looking for different directions this off-season, and they line up perfectly, and with plenty of future assets in this deal, it's hard to see either team turning it down if it were to come up.
