He cracked the NHL lineup this season, suiting up for four games and averaging just under 15 minutes per night.

The steadier minutes with the Moose give him a clearer path to continue refining the tools that labeled him one of the Jets' top prospects.
Why Elias Salomonsson was assigned to the AHL's Manitoba Moose
This move came as the Jets lined up for a clash with the Dallas Stars. Haydn Fleury was out on the ice for morning skate, and with Fleury healthy, Winnipeg needed to trim the roster to the 23-man limit.
Sending Salomonsson back to Manitoba kept the roster compliant while letting the young defenceman keep growing his development, as he risks sitting out for several games if he were to remain in the NHL.
The short time that Salomonsson spent in the NHL will pay dividends, and the Jets are paying close attention as he builds more experience down in the AHL.
