Coming off their 1st President's Trophy win, the Winnipeg Jets know they have to have better playoff success in 2025-26, and head coach Scott Arniel is explaining how it can be done. Last year was the 1st President's Trophy-winning season for the Winnipeg Jets, who clinched the best record in the NHL but only made it as far as Game 6 of the WCSF against the Dallas Stars. It followed a dramatic 7 game series win over the St. Louis Blues in the WCQF in which they needed a miracle finish in the deciding game to advance. Jets head coach Scott Arniel knows that they have to go further in the playoffs this year, and explained how they can make it possible - having good depth up and down the roster. The big thing for us is depth. It's important. We needed that last year during the season, we certainly needed it during the playoffs. These players, you hope they're part of that depth. They're hard to replace. -Scott Arniel The Jets are scheduled to start the new year on October 9 against the Stars, the team that eliminated them from the postseason.
Scott Arniel knows that tough roster decisions are coming for the Jets
It's one of the more difficult decisions that the braintrust of a hockey team has to do in telling players who were trying to make the team that they were initlally unsuccessful. There are some tough decisions. We've got battles at the forward position and battles at the defence position. We can't keep everybody. Hopefully, it works out for us. -Scott Arniel Several players still still be sent to the AHL in the coming weeks before the regular season opens next month.
