Tonight the Winnipeg Jets have lost another defenseman to injury as Neal Pionk has gone down against the Minnesota Wild.

The Winnipeg Jets were finally beginning to get healthy over the last couple of weeks with Cole Perfetti and Adam Lowry returning to the lineup.
Unfortunately that streak seems to have come to an end as defenseman Neal Pionk has suffered a lower-body injury early in the game on his first shift.
After trying to gut it out over the next several minutes of the game, Pionk went down the tunnel to be evaluated.
After that evaluation, it became clear that Pionk would not be able to return and he was swiftly ruled out.

After the evaluation from the Winnipeg Jets medical team, the team announced that he would be out for the rest of the game and need further evaluation.
As of now, head coach Scott Arniel has not given an update on Pionk's status going forward or what the next steps of the process will be for him.
This season before the injury, Pionk had played 21 games for the Jets and amassed 5 points while playing in more of a defensive shutdown role.
If Pionk misses an extended period of time the Jets will have to find a way to fill that massive gap in the lineup alongside Dylan Samberg who himself recently returned from injury.
As more information is provided on Pionk's injury and status for the upcoming games we will pass along all of the latest information.
