Elliotte Friedman reveals what the likely return will be for Jets forward Brad Lambert
NHL analyst Elliotte Friedman has weighed in on what the Winnipeg Jets could realistically expect in return of a trade for Brad Lambert.
The Winnipeg Jets have given young forward Brad Lambert permission to seek a trade, but what could the Jets get in return for him?
NHL analyst Elliotte Friedman, talking on his recent '32 Thoughts' podcast, indicated that today's players are differently wired than as recently as 20 years ago and that Lambert isn't likely to be patient to earn his spot on the Jets.
Winnipeg is a good team, he's got to be a top six forward. You look at that lineup, there's really not a lot of room for him and maybe 20 years ago, he might have waited longer and been patient, that's not the way today's players are wired.
Friedman then used Pittsburgh Penguins prospect Rutger McGroarty as a reference.
They are used to, you know, people saying, maybe I want out or I want to move on, and they're now actually very good at handling it. McGroarty, it happened with him a couple years ago, what did they do? They were patient, they said, look, if you want McGroarty, you have to give us something that we see equal in return, they got Yager.
