Dallas Stars superstars forward Mikko Rantanen has been given a one game suspension by the NHL after he was ejected for the second time inside of a week for a predatory hit from behind on an opponent.

Dallas Stars forward Mikko Rantanen has not been known as a dirty player in his NHL career, but he's now twice been ejected inside of a week for a predatory hit from behind.
First, it was on New York Islanders forward Alexander Romanov, and then last night, it was on Calgary Flames forward Matt Coronato.
Rantanen was ejected from the game last night against the Flames, and now the NHL Department of Player Safety has ruled that he'll be suspended for one game, and he'll have to sit when the Stars play the Edmonton Oilers in a rematch of the Western Conference Final on Tuesday.
It's the latest run-in for Rantanen with the NHL, as he's also been fined $2,000 for embellishment.

The Islanders Announced Alexander Romanov Will Miss 5-6 Months After Being Hit By Mikko Rantanen

After he was hit from behind by Rantanen earlier this week, Romanov was clearly seriously injured.
The Islanders have announced that he'll undergo surgery and miss at least the next 5-6 months, but Rantanen was not suspended or fined by the NHL in a ruling that upset the Islanders and their fans.
