Dallas superstar forward Mikko Rantanen has broken the NHL playoff record by factoring in on each of the Stars' last 12 goals, including a hat-trick vs. the Jets.

Mikko Rantanen is rapidly winning over fans in Dallas. After his delayed start in the Stars' Round 1 series against his former team, the Colorado Avalanche, Rantanen registered a Game 7 hat trick to close them out.
The momentum carried into Round 2, where he picked up another hat trick in Game 1 against the Winnipeg Jets.
Dallas trailed 1-0 in the second period, and Rantanen scored three consecutive goals to turn the game around, picking up his second consecutive hat trick.
In accomplishing this feat, he became a member of some rare company. Only Doug Bentley (1944) and Jari Kurri (1985) have ever posted consecutive hat tricks in Stanley Cup Playoff history, and doing so in two consecutive periods.
Rantanen, who had registered only one assist in the early games vs. Colorado, now stands at eight markers and 14 points in his last three.

Rantanen has been a part of the last 12 Stars goals

He had set up or scored all 12 of Dallas' previous 12 goals through Wednesday night's game against Winnipeg, the most for a franchise, which is a new playoff record to date for consecutive team goals produced.
That game left him leading the NHL playoff goal-scoring race and capped a rollercoaster season for the 28-year-old winger, who was traded twice this season, from Colorado to Carolina, and then on to Dallas.
Now Rantanen's record-breaking streak has the hockey world in a frenzy and the Stars on a roll, as they are up 1-0 in their series against the Jets.
