Jets coach Scott Arniel provided an update last night on the status of Jonathan Toews, revealing that he is officially listed as day-to-day and isn't too serious.

Jonathan Toews sustained an injury during the Winnipeg Jets' 3-2 preseason loss to the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday.
The 37-year-old forward, who had already missed the last two seasons due to health issues, played his final shift at 9:05 of the second period before leaving the game.
At first, it was unclear just how severe the setback was. After the game, Jets head coach Scott Arniel mentioned that Toews had "tweaked something," so everyone was curious how long the veteran center would be absent.
Since the Jets don't get back on the ice until Thursday, an update seemed as if it might wait.
But then Arniel went on NHL Network Radio's 'The Power Play' and offered some clarification. He verified that Toews was day-to-day, a much more promising turn than many had thought, given his medical history.
"Last night with JT he just tweaked something in the game. Got it looked at today by our doctors and it's just going to be day-to-day so that's good news for us. He was supposed to play Friday in Calgary, last exhibition game, we'll see. We'll see in the next couple of days how he feels. Yeah that was more precautionary, didn't feel quite right, so just kinda pull him out of that one."

Jonathan Toews is Listed on Today's Practice List Which is Good News

Although the situation should be closely watched, the Jets sidestepped the worst-case scenario.
A player of Toews' caliber and experience missing games is a big deal, no matter how small they might be, but the team will find solace in this not seeming like a long-term blowback.
This development brings relief to Winnipeg for the moment as they prepare for their final preseason game on Friday with hopes that they will keep the veteran forward healthy throughout the regular season.
