Lukas Reichel's name has been out there in trade discussions, and now it's been revealed that two top Pacific Division teams are chasing the Blackhawks winger. The NHL's off-season is quickly coming to an end, and with the regular season less than a week away, most teams are solidifying their roster ahead of what could be an incredibly exciting 2025/26 season. However, that hasn't stopped trade rumours, as it was recently reported that Lukas Reichel, a former first-round pick has officially been placed on the trade block by the Chicago Blackhawks.
Two Western Canadian teams in pursuit of Reichel
Unsurprisingly, that has led to both the Vancouver Canucks and Edmonton Oilers being linked to Reichel, with David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period linking three Pacific Division teams to the former first-round pick. The Vancouver Canucks, Edmonton Oilers and San Jose Sharks are among the teams believed to have interest

Loading from Twitter ...

Since arriving in the NHL, Reichel has appeared in 169 games with the Blackhawks, tallying 24 goals and 54 points in that time, but with the 23-year old failing to take the next step, it makes sense why Chicago wants to move on before having to pay him. With the talent and the size, it's also easy to see why other teams would be interested in him, and if Reichel can find a fresh start somewhere, don't be surprised to see him blossom into a very solid NHLer moving forward. Where that will be, it's unclear at this point in time, as the Canucks and Oilers may enter a bidding war for the young winger, and behind a career high of 22 points last season, in the right situation, he could absolutely thrive.
