Head coach Scott Arniel provided a second update on Haydn Fleury's condition today after last night's accident, as the Jets also recalled Danny Zhilkin.

In Winnipeg, Jets head coach Scott Arniel gave a second update on defenseman Haydn Fleury after a tense scene in their latest 10th consecutive loss Tuesday night.
The team made an announcement on Wednesday that the player has been placed on injured reserve. The decision comes a day after he was escorted out of the game on a stretcher with injuries sustained against the Vegas Golden Knights.

How Haydn Fleury's scary injury occurred

This occurred as Fleury chased after a loose puck in the Jets' zone and tried to make a pass, but was pushed by Vegas forward Keegan Kolesar.
He lost his balance and crashed into the boards, leaving him in need of medical attention before being rushed to a hospital by an ambulance. Later in the game, it was reported that Fleury had movement in his extremities.
Fleury was released from the hospital late on Tuesday night and appeared for team meetings at the rink on Wednesday. Head coach Scott Arniel informed Jets color commentator Mitchell Clinton that Fleury broke his nose and bruised his back.
"Haydn Fleury has a broken nose and a bruised back. As far as a concussion, more time/testing needed to know for sure.

Fleury was able to go home from hospital last night and was around the rink today for the team's meetings."

Why further testing on Haydn Fleury is still needed

Arniel further informed Mitchell that further testing is still needed to determine if a concussion is possible.
In a further move due to this, the Jets have recalled Danny Zhilkin, a forward, from the AHL's Manitoba Moose affiliate. Zhilkin, aged 22, was picked in the third round of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft and has never laced up his skates in an NHL contest yet.
The Jets sit last in the league at 15-21-5 and face the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday.
