Oilers forward Adam Henrique left the game vs. the Predators last night with an apparent injury, and it's expected he will miss some time.

The Edmonton Oilers' injury issues continued Wednesday as Adam Henrique left early in a 6-2 win over the Nashville Predators. Henrique reportedly exited in the first period after blocking a Filip Forsberg shot just over five minutes into the game.
Kasperi Kapanen returned from injury for the Oilers, contributing a goal and an assist in the victory.

What Adam Henrique has done so far this season for the Oilers

Henrique, who has appeared in 43 games this season with two goals and 10 points while averaging 14:06 of ice time, started on the third line with Jack Roslovic and Isaac Howard.
After Henrique left, Roslovic moved to center, joining Howard and Matt Savoie on the wing. Head coach Kris Knoblauch said he liked what he saw from that line and plans to keep them together. He also said Henrique will miss some time.

Why the Oilers may need to utilize LTIR in the coming weeks

The Oilers are also navigating a tight salary cap. Jake Walman is expected back from Long-Term Injured Reserve as soon as next week, and if Henrique misses an extended period, Edmonton could place him on LTIR to activate Walman while remaining cap compliant.
When Tristan Jarry is ready to return from LTIR, the team could then send down either Calvin Pickard or Connor Ingram to maintain cap flexibility. This could give Edmonton more room as they explore a trade for Andrew Mangiapane.
The Oilers will continue their schedule on Thursday with a road game against the Winnipeg Jets, followed by a home matchup against the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday.
