Vegas Golden Knights captain Mark Stone said that he's honoured to be part of Team Canada for the upcoming Olympics and says it's the kind of thing players dream of.
After weeks of anticipation, the roster for Team Canada that they'll take with them to the upcoming 2026 Olympics was released last week, and there were several notable names included.
Among them are Connor McDavid, Sidney Crosby, Mitch Marner, Nathan MacKinnon and Cale Makar, while there were more than a few notable snubs including Sam Bennett, Mark Scheifele and Connor Bedard.
But one player who wasn't snubbed from the team is Vegas Golden Knights captain Mark Stone, who will join first-year teammate Marner as they try and defend the nation's gold medal win from the 2014 Sochi Olympics, the last time NHL players participated.
He said that he's honoured to have the opportunity:
Definitely honoured and excited that this opportunity came for me. These are experiences that you dream of.
I'm a confident player, but going into the season you look around the league and even the camp we were at in Calgary, there's 42, 43 guys there. - Mark Stone

It will be Stone's first opportunity to play in the Olympics.
