Jets coach Scott Arniel wasn't in a good mood after last night's loss, and he took the liberty to call out his depth guys, saying they need to find a way to score.

The Winnipeg Jets fell 4-3 in Washington on Wednesday, extending their skid to three games and dropping them to 12-10 on the season.
Eric Comrie, starting his fourth straight game for the injured Connor Hellebuyck, faced Alex Ovechkin for the first time, and the NHL's all-time leading goal-scorer wasted no time adding to his legacy.
Ovechkin's long, unexpected wrister in the second period made it 58 goals in 76 career games against Winnipeg and broke a 2-2 tie.

What Winnipeg's biggest blow of the game was

The biggest blow for Winnipeg came early in the third when rookie Elias Salomonsson mishandled a pass at the Washington blue line, springing Connor McMichael for the eventual winner.
It capped a night of highs and lows for Salomonsson, who made his NHL debut with the traditional solo lap, watched by his girlfriend, before the costly turnover shifted the momentum.
Gabe Vilardi supplied all of Winnipeg's offence, scoring twice to reach 100 career goals and adding a late assist on Mark Scheifele's rebound marker.
But the Jets generated little beyond that top line, managing just 21 shots while Washington's blue-liners continued their impressive season with two more goals from the point.

Why Scott Arniel was visibly frustrated in the locker room

Somewhere in the midst of all that, Jets coach Scott Arniel was visibly frustrated after the loss, indicating he expects much more from his depth players, and saying his team needs secondary scoring and his bottom six must find a way to start contributing.
"We've got to find a way to get some secondary scoring," Arniel said. "We need other people to step up. It's not about being pretty now. I don't care how it goes in. Off your head, off your leg, however it might be.

"The guys that aren't scoring, find a way to get some offence."

Comrie made 30 saves but fell to 1-3 in Hellebuyck's absence. Winnipeg continues its five-game road trip with stops in Carolina on Friday and Nashville on Saturday. The Jets will regroup quickly in a bid to prevent this slide from going any further.
