After missing practice earlier today, the Winnipeg Jets have finally provided an update on Cole Perfetti's injury.

During the Winnipeg Jets final preseason game they suffered several injuries to key players including Jonathan Toews, Dylan DeMelo, and Cole Perfetti.
Today, Toews returned to practice for the Jets but was not joined by Perfetti causing concern over the severity of his injury.
This afternoon, head coach Scott Arniel spoke to the media and gave an unfortunate update on Perfetti's injury and recovery timeline.

Scott Arniel Provides Disappointing Update on Cole Perfetti's Injury

During his press conference, Arniel was asked about the return of both Toews and Perfetti.
He first confirmed that Toews is good to go before revealing that Perfetti suffered an ankle injury that will keep him out week-to-week.
When the injury was first announced, there had been some concern amongst fans that Perfetti could miss a significant chunk of the season so in some ways week-to-week is better than some of the worst case scenarios imagined.
The Jets terrible injury luck continues as the team will now be without Perfetti and Dylan Samberg on opening night with several other players battling through things already this season.
With Perfetti out, the Jets will have to turn to some of their young prospects to potentially step up and take on a big role in the top-six to start the year.
As more information is given on Perfetti's exact timeline and rehab from the ankle injury we will continue to pass along all of the latest details.
