Jets' Logan Stanley is stirring up some controversy after he stated that he has no regrets following his one-game suspension regarding the Brady Tkachuk incident.
The Winnipeg Jets are on the verge of double-digit consecutive losses as they open a five-game homestand Tuesday against the Vegas Golden Knights, having dropped nine straight games.
Logan Stanley won't be part of the lineup, serving a one-game suspension for sucker-punching Ottawa's Brady Tkachuk during Saturday's 4-2 loss.
Stanley addressed the media, reiterating what he told the NHL's department of player safety during a phone hearing.
What Logan Stanley claimed about Brady Tkachuk
He claimed he had no idea Tkachuk's right hand was taped under his glove, which would have made him ineligible to fight under NHL rules.
The league ruled Stanley struck an "unsuspecting player," resulting in his suspension. He also stated he has no regrets about the incident, which has stirred controversy.
"I don't play the game with regret. You can't play that way. I'll continue to play hard and on edge," he said.
"It obviously sucks to sit out. You want to play in every game. I'll use it as a little bit of rest in this crazy schedule and get a couple of good skates in and a couple of good workouts in the gym and reset and be ready to go (on Thursday)."

Monday's practice suggests Haydn Fleury will replace Stanley on the third pairing alongside Luke Schenn, with Stanley and healthy scratch Colin Miller previously forming the duo.
Why the Jets have a decent chance at beating Vegas
The Jets will face a Vegas team with 13 regulation wins through 40 games, the same as Winnipeg, and just two more victories overall (17). Vegas leads the Pacific Division, benefiting from 12 of its 23 losses coming in overtime or a shootout.
Winnipeg's losing streak has been unusually close, with seven defeats by one goal and two by two, including an empty-netter, highlighting their struggle to finish games.
Veteran forward Nino Niederreiter, who went 15 games without a point and was a healthy scratch last Thursday in Toronto, said the team understands the urgency. Coach Scott Arniel will need every player focused to turn the trend around.
