NHL insider Elliotte Friedman revealed that the Ducks remain a legitimate trade partner for Andrew Mangiapane, and the Oilers could receive Ryan Strome.

Two months prior to the March 6 deadline, the Edmonton Oilers are active in the market, trying to relocate Andrew Mangiapane.
At 29, he signed with the Oilers last summer, but with many healthy scratches within the past few weeks, it seems there is a clear indication of him not being part of their plans, hence rumors emerging of getting a fresh start.
In Saturday's 32 Thoughts podcast, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet indicated the Oilers probably have a trade partner for Mangiapane.

Why the Anaheim Ducks are a fit for Andrew Mangiapane

He picked up where Monday's installment of the podcast had left off, suggesting the Anaheim Ducks as a fit, both in terms of their makeup and financially.
"I did mention Anaheim on Saturday night, and there's two reasons I mention them," Friedman said. "Number one, they've started to struggle a bit. They have a lot of guys who have never gone through this meat grinder before. I just wonder if they might want a veteran to help some of their kids get through this. And they have the cap room."

Friedman highlighted that Anaheim has veteran roster depth but is dealing with the injury to Frank Vatrano, who is likely to be out for a couple of weeks.
Anaheim also has a favorable cap situation and isn't locked into much long-term money, making it able to take on the $3.6 million cap hit that Mangiapane is on through next year.

In their discussions with Anaheim, Ryan Strome has been mentioned as a possible match for a return, though there would be some complications involved, as Friedman explained.
"I did have some people that thought a Strome for Mangiapane deal makes sense," he said. "The problem there is that Strome makes about a million and a half more than Mangiapane, and Edmonton doesn't have the room to take all that. So it would be interesting to see how Anaheim would feel about that situation I've also heard, though I've not confirmed it through the Oilers, that they are looking for a player who would be more accepting of the role that Mangiapane was going to start to have to play. Sort of like a bottom-six, somebody who is not going to get as much of a chance to play with a Leon or a Connor and Strome wouldn't necessarily fit that."

Meanwhile, Toronto has also come up in rumors, with Matias Maccelli's name being mentioned as a potential candidate to return.
Friedman, however, dismissed talk of a potential trade, indicating the Leafs aren't seriously looking to make a trade, although Mangiapane has a history with Toronto's GM, Brad Treliving, during his time in Calgary.
