Tonight a new report from Elliotte Friedman has suggested that Andrew Mangiapane could be traded to a division rival by the Edmonton Oilers.
Earlier this week, reports confirmed that Andrew Mangiapane and his agent were given permission to seek a trade away from the Oilers.
This request was granted after Mangiapane has struggled to see consistent ice-time on a scoring line for the Oilers and struggled as a result.
After the request was made public, Mangiapane spoke to the media and admitted he was happy in Edmonton and that he would let his representation handle the business side of things.
With Mangiapane and his representatives searching for a trade, multiple teams have reportedly checked in on the veteran including the Anaheim Ducks according to Elliotte Friedman.

With this situation continuing to play out, insider Elliotte Friedman believes there has been progress on a trade with multiple teams showing interest headlined by the Anaheim Ducks.
Elliotte Friedman on Saturday Headlines says that there are some teams that is interested in Andrew Mangiapane. He names the Anaheim Ducks as a team that has interest.
The Ducks are a young team who have gotten off to a great start and are currently unexpectedly in a playoff spot.
Adding more scoring and a veteran presence like Mangiapane could be the exact thing the Ducks need to elevate their up and coming lineup.
For the Oilers, Stan Bowman can potentially get draft picks or a young player that could be used in future trades to bring in another player to replace Mangiapane's role.
For now, a trade still seems in the early stages of being worked out but could be resolved quickly if a willing trade partner emerges.
The Oilers likely will not ask for much for Mangiapane which could mean once negotiations begin a trade could materialize within days.
As more news breaks regarding Mangiapane's future in Edmonton and beyond we will pass that news along to you.
