Per a new report, Vancouver Canucks forward Kiefer Sherwood has been linked to the Buffalo Sabres, who recently won 10 straight games before losing today.
One of the most heavily talked about players in the NHL involved in trade rumours is Vancouver Canucks forward Kiefer Sherwood.
The Canucks, who already made a monumental trade last month by trading away captain Quinn Hughes to the Minnesota Wild, have multiple players who could soon be traded included Sherwood as well as Conor Garland and Elias Pettersson.
Per analyst Michael DeRosa, the Buffalo Sabres should throw their hats into the mix for Sherwood.
If the Sabres acquired Sherwood, he would fit very nicely in their top nine due to his scoring ability and physicality. Furthermore, he would also give the Sabres another option for both their penalty kill and power play if brought in. - Michael DeRosa
So far this year, Sherwood has 21 points (17G, 4A) in 40 games played.
Canucks' Kiefer Sherwood Is Heavily Involved In Trade Rumours
Sherwood is one of the most talked-about players in the NHL right now in trade rumours, and he can become a UFA at the end of this season.
He's in the second year of his contract with an AAV (average annual value) of $1.5 million, a reasonable amount that won't be too much and potentially scare off suitors who want to add a scoring punch to their forward units.
In his career, Sherwood has played for multiple teams including the Anaheim Ducks, Colorado Avalanche and Nashville Predators in addition to the Canucks, and has 119 points (60G, 59A) in 305 games.
