Former Winnipeg Jet Brenden Dillon shares emotional moment ahead of 1000th NHL game

Former Winnipeg Jets defenseman Brenden Dillon had an emotional response to seeing a photograph of his younger self ahead of his 1,000th career NHL game.
New Jersey Devils defenseman Brenden Dillon is set to play in the 1,000th game of his NHL career, and following practice today, the Devils' staff surprised him with a photograph of his younger self.
The picture evoked an emotional response in Dillon ahead of his milestone game, and he said he would have been happy just to have one game in the NHL, let alone 1,000.
«I just wanted to get one. I'm just happy. So thankful to be playing the best game in the world. It's been awesome.
Dillon continued by expressing his appreciation for the overall game of hockey he's been able to play for so many years now, and how glad he is to be a part of the Devils organization.
Every step and every level there are so many people that make this. And there are fortunate things too, and I've just been so lucky and appreciative.

So far this year, Dillon has nine points (3G, 6A) in 25 games.
Former Jets Defenseman Brenden Dillon Is Playing In His 1,000th Career NHL Game
Dillon was never drafted into the NHL and signed a three year, entry level contract with the Dallas Stars in 2011.
Dillon has since played for multiple organizations, including the San Jose Sharks and Washington Capitals before he was traded to the Winnipeg Jets in 2021.
He spent three years in a Jets sweater before he signed a three year contract with an AAV (average annual value) of $4 million with the Devils in 2024.
