Tonight, analysts Tyler Yaremchuk and Matt Larkin have predicted that the Vancouver Canucks will be the worst Canadian team in the NHL next season.

The Vancouver Canucks made several monumental organizational changes over the last 12 months.
From trading away one of their stars in J.T. Miller to parting ways with former head coach Rick Tocchet after the season ended the Canucks have been making changes in the name of improvement.
The Canucks also were able to bring back Brock Boeser while adding Evander Kane up front.
Despite all of these changes, the Canucks are destined for a similarly abysmal fate next season as Tyler Yaremchuk and Matt Larkin believe the Canucks will be at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to Canada.

The conversation began with Yaremchuk revealing he has the Canucks in dead last 7th out of 7 Canadian teams.
The lack of upgrades particularly at the center position will be the downfall of the Canucks next season.
Tyler Yaremchuk: We both agreed that Vancouver is dead last, 7th out of seven. I don't even think it needs that much explaining, but when you look at center depth: okay, Elias Pettersson, what is he? Even if he takes a big step forward and he is a bonafide top-line center for you, you're still taking a gamble on Filip Chytil finding a way to be healthy. Even if he's been healthy, asking him to be a 2C is a pretty big ask.

There's a lot of hope on that Vancouver roster. I'm not saying they're guaranteed to miss the playoffs, but it's pretty easy to put them dead last in this ranking.

Larkin followed up his co-hosts opinion by echoing many of the same points that the additions for the Canucks just were not good enough.
Matt Larkin: I agree, and for me, the Canucks are at the top of my «What are you doing?» power rankings. The team really struggled to find its identity. They weren't good enough to make the playoffs, and what have you added to this roster?

You're pretty much running back the same core group, and like you said, hoping for a better season from Pettersson, hoping for health from Chytil

Heading into the season the Canucks seem to have a lot of people to prove wrong and it will all begin with Elias Pettersson and Filip Chytil drastically outperforming expectations.
