In a recent interview new Vancouver Canuck forward Evander Kane spoke about the opportunity to return to the city he grew up in and represent his childhood team.

The Edmonton Oilers have been active this summer reshaping their roster and one of the team's biggest moves was to trade Evander Kane to the Vancouver Canucks in a salary dump.
Evander Kane during his tenure in Edmonton had an up and down experience being one of the more talented players but also struggling with injuries.
At the time of the trade, many around the league wondered how Kane would handle going from the Oilers who just made their second Stanley Cup Finals in a row to the Vancouver Canucks who missed the Stanley Cup Playoffs altogether.
Yesterday, Kane spoke during the Canucks Insider Podcast and revealed he is incredibly excited to return home to Vancouver.

Evander Kane Thrilled To Represent Hometown Canucks Next Season

During the interview with Chris Faber, Kane was asked if it has sunk in yet that he gets to play for his childhood team this far into his career.
What are the thoughts now? Coming to Vancouver putting on that jersey that I'm sure you probably had when you were a kid?

It probably hasn't even sunk in 100% yet. You know you haven't had a practice yet or played a game in front of the home crowd. It's set in a little bit but once training camp gets rolling and practicing and letting the hockey kind of take over it'll sink in a little bit.

Kane then revealed he was a big Canucks fan growing up and that franchise icon Markus Naslund was his favorite player.
Obviously being able to put on a Vancouver Canuck uniform is really special. I grew up watching the Canucks Markus Naslund was my favorite Canuck growing up.

Kane finished by revealing the last time he played as a Canuck was during a youth tournament in Quebec where his team was sponsored by the Vancouver Canucks a tournament which he proudly confirms they won.
Kane will look to rekindle his winning ways in Vancouver and light a spark for the Canucks to return to the Stanley Cup Playoffs and potentially even bring hockey's greatest trophy back home in 2025-26.
