After Patrik Allvin's recent comments on the Vancouver Canucks lack of center depth a new mock trade has connected the team to New York Islanders veteran Jean-Gabriel Pageau. Earlier this week, Vancouver Canucks GM Patrik Allvin revealed that he is willing to explore the trade market for a second-line center if needed. The team, of course, remains confident in Filip Chytil after acquiring him in the blockbuster trade involving J.T. Miller. However, Chytil has infamously struggled with injury issues which could force the Canucks hand at some point to make a move.

Loading from Twitter ...

If the Canucks are going to make a move the New York Islanders could make sense as a trade partner.
Vancouver Canucks Linked To Veteran Center Jean-Gabriel Pageau
A new mock trade put together by Heavy Sports has suggested that the Canucks should target Islanders center Jean-Gabriel Pageau. The proposed mock trade would see the Canucks acquire Pageau in exchange for Teddy Blueger, Arshdeep Bains, and a 2026 Second-Round Pick. Canucks Get: Jean-Gabriel Pageau Islanders Get: 2026 Second-Round Pick Teddy Blueger Arshdeep Bains Pageau, 32, has been a consistent presence for the Islanders tallying around 40 points in each season on Long Island.

Loading from Twitter ...

This would be a major upgrade over Teddy Blueger and add much needed center depth for the Canucks. If Chytil remains healthy, Pageau becomes one of the best third line centers in the NHL. Then in the scenario where Chytil struggles with injuries Pageau can handle being moved into the top-six and taking on a more offensive role. Pageau might not be the flashiest nam the Canucks could add but he would be a sure fire upgrade and add much needed veteran experience to the Canucks forward group.
