Fans Chant 'Maple Leafs Suck' During Bruins-Lightning Game

Fans in attendance at the Bruins game last night decided to start a chant taunting the Toronto Maple Leafs. Oddly though, the team was playing the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Bruins and Lightning fans unite in hatred of Maple Leafs

The Toronto Maple Leafs have had a season full of drama just like they do every year. Most recently, Sheldon Keefe called out the team's captain John Tavares after a 6-3 loss to the New Jersey Devils. Fans around the league love to see this kind of thing though as the Leafs are high on the enemy list for many fanbases. Yesterday this was especially evident as Bruins and Lightning fans united to cheer against them.



More importantly for the Leafs, the Lightning won the game, taking down the Bruins 3-1. The win closed the gap between the Lightning and Leafs to just two points.



The Leafs do have one game in hand on the lightning, but with the way both teams have been playing lately, it very well could be the Lightning that grab the 3rd spot in the Atlantic division, forcing the Leafs to settle for a tough first-round matchup against the New York Rangers.



The Leafs certainly have not had the same level of regular season success they are used to this season. Hopefully that does not carry over into the postseason, otherwise the team could find themselves in a very similar position this summer.
