Oilers' Zach Hyman was asked about Tristan Jarry's performance last night after Edmonton lost in overtime to Nashville, where he said the goalie played great.

The Edmonton Oilers' winning streak ended at one. This came after they thrashed the Chicago Blackhawks 4-1 on Monday. This was followed by an overtime defeat of 4-3 to the Nashville Predators on Tuesday.
This brief two-game swing through the Central division netted three out of a possible four points.
Nashville struck first just under three minutes into the opening frame, as Steven Stamkos scored his 20th of the season against Tristan Jarry, who was activated off long-term IR just prior to the start of the game.
Zach Hyman replied late in the frame on the man advantage, extending Connor McDavid's record point streak to 20 games.
The second period saw four goals traded. Haula opened the scoring, but Leon Draisaitl responded with his 25th goal of the year. Hyman gave the Oilers the lead on another man-advantage, but Roman Josi tied the game about a minute later.

What Zach Hyman had to say about Tristan Jarry

In overtime, Nashville capitalized on a mistake made by Jarry and defenseman Evan Bouchard in the defensive zone, as Brady Skjei set up Josi for the winner. Later, Hyman praised Jarry, saying he played great, despite losing in overtime.
"We could be better in back-to-backs, making simple plays. I thought we were too complicated and caused too many unforced errors. I thought Jars played great, and then the special teams were good."

"You want to stack points. Even when you lose games, it's better to gain a point. But I think we're coming along. I think we have another level to get to. We've got some guys returning from injury, obviously, which is a great sign. I thought it was a good first game for them. I thought [Tristan Jarry] was outstanding earning us the extra point. I thought [Jake Walman] was good in his return, so good to get those guys back."

It snapped a drought of five games for Nashville against Edmonton that dated back to the 2023-24 season. Edmonton currently shares first place in the Pacific Division with 54 points, although the Golden Knights have three games in hand in the standings.

Why Nashville has turned its season around

Nashville, on the other hand, has moved within a point of a spot in the playoffs in the Western Conference, a far cry from the 8-13-4 record they had in late November.
Edmonton heads home Thursday to play the New York Islanders. They will then travel to Vancouver this Saturday and host St. Louis on Sunday to begin an eight-game homestand that will take them through the end of January.
