The future of veteran Edmonton Oilers forward Adam Henrique with the club as the trade deadline approaches in less than a week is in doubt following the latest report.
We are now only days away from the trade deadline, and based on the latest reports, it looks like there could be some action on the part of the Edmonton Oilers.
One player who is a pending UFA at the end of the year is Adam Henrique, who the Oilers acquired from the divisional foe Anaheim Ducks in 2024 before their first of two straight unsuccessful runs to the Stanley Cup Final against the Florida Panthers.
Henrique's future with the Oilers is cloudy at best following the latest report that he's allegedly willing to move his no-trade clause.
Being told that F Adam Henrique notified the Oilers last night that he is willing to waive his NMC for a trade. By no means does this mean he will be getting moved. But if something comes up that makes sense for Henrique, he'd be more than open to it. - Oilers Daily
So far this year, his second full year in an Oilers sweater since being acquired from the Ducks, Henrique has 10 points (2G, 8A).
Adam Henrique Has Played In The Stanley Cup Final Three Times
Henrique, who started his NHL career with the New Jersey Devils after they took him with the 82nd overall pick in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, scored the OT GWG in Game 6 of the 2012 Eastern Conference Final against the divisional foe New York Rangers, sending the Devils to the Cup Final for the first time in nine years.
But they were beaten by the Los Angeles Kings in five games.
Henrique would play several more years for the Devils before being traded in 2017 to the Ducks, where he would play until 2024.
Just weeks after Edmonton's 2024 loss to the Panthers, Henrique signed a two year contract with an AAV (average annual value) of $6 million to stay in Edmonton.
He has 567 points (277G, 290A) in 1,038 career NHL games.
