Today, Edmonton Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch provided a new injury update on three players including Leon Draisaitl.
The Edmonton Oilers still have not clinched their spot in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, tomorrow night have a huge matchup against the Los Angeles Kings who occupy the final spot in the West.
Heading into the game, the Oilers have been dealing with several injuries to their forward group including to star Leon Draisaitl.
Now, head coach Kris Knoblauch has confirmed some unfortunate news on Draisaitl, Jason Dickinson and Zach Hyman.
Kris Knoblauch provides frustrating update on three key Oilers forwards
In a recent press conference, Knoblauch confirmed that all three of Draisaitl, Dickinson, and Hyman will be out for tomorrow’s rivalry matchup.
Dickinson didn't skate today and won't play tomorrow. Draisaitl and Hyman still out
With so many injuries, multiple depth players will be asked to step up into bigger roles, this will include Max Jones and Kasperi Kapanen moving up the lineup while Ryan Nugent-Hopkins is forced into the second line center role.
Knoblauch had these lines in practice today: Podkolzin-McDavid-Savoie
Jones-RNH-Kapanen
Roslovic-Henrique-Lazar
Dach-Samanski-Frederic

While the Oilers are not in danger of losing their playoff spot at the moment losing to the Kings could have major implications on both teams’ seeding for the playoffs and Los Angeles’ chances to begin with.
As always, the Oilers will look to Connor McDavid to step up and carry extra offensive weight in one of the biggest games of the season.
As the puck drops, it will be interesting to see if the Oilers depth holds up or if the Kings take advantage of Edmonton’s injuries.
