Today, a new report has confirmed that Edmonton Oilers Assistant GM has emerged as the favorite to become the next General Manager of the Nashville Predators.
The Nashville Predators have underperformed over the last two seasons after spending big in free agency and going all in to win a Stanley Cup.
As a result of those failures, General Manager Barry Trotz confirmed he would be retiring at the end of the season ending his tenure in Nashville.
After the announcement was made, the Predators immediately kicked off a search for their new General Manager.
Now, reports are confirming that Oilers’ Assistant General Managee Bill Scott has made it deep in the interview process for the role.

Early on in the Predators process, they were interviewing a wide range of candidates with different backgrounds and levels of experience.
More recently, Elliotte Friedman confirmed that Scott had made it to the next round of interviews where the Predators have narrowed the field down to around 3 or 4 candidates in total.
Friedman on 32TP says that the Predators are moving to the next phase of their GM search, which includes in‑person interviews. He believes they’ll speak with Bill Scott (EDM), Scott White (DAL), Brett Peterson (FLA), and possibly John Chayka as well.
With Bill Scott being a finalist, this means that Stan Bowman and the Oilers’ front office might have a major organizational hole to fill in short order.
If Scott is hired by the Predators, an immediate search will likely begin for his replacement that will need to conclude before the NHL Draft in June.
As more information is provided on the Predators’ General Manager search and Bill Scott’s chances of getting the role we will pass along the latest details.
