The Edmonton Oilers have won three of their last four games, and Leon Draisaitl is revealing what he thinks went wrong for them earlier in the season.
For the third straight season, the Edmonton Oilers got off to a much slower start than they would have liked, but they appear to be putting things together.
They've now won three of their last four games, which included a 6-2 win last night over the Winnipeg Jets at Rogers Place.
Star forward Leon Draisaitl said after the game that he felt the team had been lacking in confidence, but that the group as a whole knows to play the right way and they feel it's starting to come back with their recent hot streak.
Sometimes you lose confidence in your own ability and the ability of the group a little bit. And sometimes you're in a little lull before you get out of it.
Nobody wants to start the way we have the past couple of years but at the end of the day, there is an underlying confidence within our group that we know how to play. We just have to do it more often at the start of the year. - Leon Draisaitl

Two years ago, the slow start to the season resulted in the termination of head coach Jay Woodcroft; he was replaced by Kris Knobluach, who experienced the same kind of slower start to last season and the current one.
But it's been Knoblauch who has been behind the bench for Edmonton's consecutive trips to the Stanely Cup Final, and they recently extended his contract.
The Oilers Have Now Won Three Of Their Last Four Games
Not only did the Oilers open the offensive floodgates against the Jets with six goals, but they also did so against the Seattle Kraken earlier in the week.
They scored a season-best nine goals against the Kraken as part of their 9-4 win. They won't like that they gave up four goals, as their goaltending situation continues to be a concern.
But if the Oilers can truly rediscover the confidence and swagger that's helped them twice now be one of the final two teams standing in June, they'll be in a good position.
