Evander Kane has interesting response when asked about healthy scratch

The Edmonton Oilers had a dreadful trip to Ontario this past week, with back-to-back losses against Toronto and Ottawa only further highlighting the controversial healthy scratch of Evander Kane. The veteran star struggled in Toronto, and while his Head Coach revealed the move was more of a maintenance day, there were many reports that it could have been due to an attitude issue from the veteran.

Now, Kane has talked to the media for the first time since Sunday, and unsurprisingly, his answer was vague, leading many to easily see the frustration written all over his body language.

When asked about the scratch, Kane simply responded with "I feel good", and when asked about the maintenance day that it was supposed to be and whether or not that worked, his response remained simple; "I guess so".

There could be much more to this story, with Kane responding like this to a similar situation back in January, leading many around the team to believe that this scratch was purely performance related.

We may never get the full story out of Kane or the Oilers with the team heading towards a Stanley Cup push, but for now, it appears he'll be back in the lineup, and if things start clicking, this could all be forgotten very quickly.
